This week in class, we continued our worked on vocabulary, reading, and writing.

Five Minute Reading Challenge
Students listened to a passage Miss Adrienne read out loud in class for specific details, so they could illustrate what they heard. Students encouraged to use creativity while strengthening their listening and comprehension skills.

Word Cloud Word Association Activity

Using Abcya, our students created their own word clouds. Students took one of our vocabulary words and created a colorful word cloud image including words they associated with the vocabulary word they selected.

Class Writing


      Short sentences written describing the material read aloud in class. 
      • Write 6 complete sentences with beginning, middle, and end format and include correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and capitalization. Please make sure I can read your sentences. 
      • Use 3 of the daily vocabulary words; please underline your vocabulary words. 
      • Tell me what happened in the story with your own words. Be sure to include the following items (in complete sentences) in your essay: 
        1. What did the sign at the scrap yard say?
        2. Did the prices go up or down on scrap, and why did Mr. Penwood say the prices changed?
        3. Who is Fang? 
        4. Where would Larry's rescue dogs have to go if Larry couldn't feed them?
        5. How much money did Paul have? Was it a lot or a little?
        6. What would you do to save your dog?
